"ReAnna, what a geek! We should call her GeekAnna instead!" Commented Tatiana, the school's Miss Popular. Rebecca became lonely very quickly.
One day, Rebecca saw a strange looking man prowling around the school. She decided to investigate him. All of the sudden, he spoke into the air, stood still, and disappeared! Rebecca immediately knew that she would need backup!
"Hey, GeekAnna!" Rebecca slowly turned around and, with disgust, walked toward Tatiana and her group of girlfriends.
"Yes?" Rebecca replied in a soft, nervous, yet hopeful voice.
"We don't want you here. You should, like, totally go back where you came from! What was it called again? Like, the dumpster?" Tatiana said in a valley girl voice. Rebecca ignored her, walked around a corner and contacted Laura Pang, her agent buddy.
"Agent, things here are a lot more serious than I thought."
"Awww, are you lonely Becka?"
"That too."
"I'll transfer right now."
Rebecca removed her finger from her ear, turned around to see Amelia, one of Tatiana's friends, staring at her as if she was the Tooth Fairy.
"What?" Rebecca asked innocently. "Is there something wrong with my ear itching?"
Amelia just turned around and ran off to Tatiana.

"Tatiana!" Amelia cried.
"What is it now, Amy?"
"ReAnna was doing something weird! When she was done, she was acting as if she was itching her ear, but when she was doing whatever she was doing, it looked as if she had a mini bluetooth thing, you know, like the spies in movies use! I also heard her talking to someone, even though nobody was around her!"
Tatiana thought and thought and thought. She knew that Amelia was a smart girl, and should be trusted, and always spoke the truth, but she really couldn't comprehend ReAnna as what Amelia was describing.
"Keep an eye out on her, Amy. I want to know every odd detail you see..."

English class, however, had not changed a bit. Laura had not arrived yet, and Rebecca was still looking out for the strange man. She had overheard Tatiana commanding her sheeples to keep an eye on her, so she also had to be extra careful on how she would give her reports. It was humorous to see Amelia trying to sneak up on her. Another week passed. Laura finally came, and she looked even geekier than Rebecca had when she first came.
"Hi. My name's Lucy. Lucy Pontif. I come from Heritage Academy." Laura said in a small voice. She had also added a small lisp to her voice. In her disguise she used braces, large glasses, ratted hair in pig tails, and a horrible outfit that would even make trolls say, "ew!" Tatiana was horrified that such a creature had even spoken in her presence. Rebecca, however, was very happy that Laura had come. She didn't express it though.
"ReAnna!!" Laura shouted and ran up to her. The teacher gave her a terrible frown and Laura meekly sat down next to Rebecca. Later in that class, Rebecca handed Laura her notes on what had been going on. Laura read through them very carefully. Unfortunately, the teacher had noticed and started to walk towards her desk. Laura carefully ripped the papers and put them into her pockets out the teacher's view.
"What were you just doing?" Ms. Patine asked.
"Nothing, Ms. Patine."
Ms. Patine left her suspiciously and Laura returned her spy work.
The very next day, Rebecca was faced with a problem. Someone at the school had gone missing.
At first, no one thought it to be a problem. They figured he had just ditched. But as the day dragged on, they began to realize no one had gone with him, and no one had seen him since lunch. They called his parents, but neither of them knew where he was, either. The school had a crisis on their hands, and the secret agents weren’t about to sit out on this one.
Laura was the first to notice Jace’s absence. She had had eyes for him since the day she transferred from the Academy to the boring school Rebecca pulled her into. Jace didn’t seem like the kind of guy to be ditching classes, and no one had seen him leave. Usually when you ditch, you tell your best friend or something. In that case, he hadn’t told a single soul where he was going or what he was doing. Tatianna wouldn’t be bothered by the disappearance, and her groupies paid no heed to the situation. This left Rebecca and Laura free to do whatever they needed to do to investigate this problem, seek out the source, and take down the issue as quickly as possible.
They didn’t think it would connect with the disappearing man.
They had forged permission slips in case of emergency, and signed out of school right before half of the Mesa police department arrived at the scene. They knew they should contact their superiors first, but they knew there was something about this missing person’s case that couldn’t be dealt with by search and seizure. They needed to look into this very closely and experiment with it before contacting the Heritage Incorporated Agency (HIA). They started by visiting the places Jace often visited. Laura knew all of these of course. I mean, what else are you going to do if you have a secret crush on a guy but can’t go out with him because you have a secret identity that he wouldn't understand? You stalk him. Of course, that’s how Laura saw it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t much help because the girls couldn’t find him anywhere, no matter how hard they looked or how many times they ran in circles, searching the same areas ten times over.
It was only when they were going back to see if there was any progress at the school that they witnessed a man reappearing in front of the gate and nonchalantly walking down the street. Rebecca had to cover Laura’s mouth to keep her from squealing as they hid behind a dumpster. When the man passed, Rebecca took her hand off of her friend’s face.
“What was that?! He just popped in out of thin air!” Laura exclaimed.
“That’s what I was telling you before, but it was the other way around,” Rebecca answered. She knew Laura would be freaked out--she was when she first saw the man disappear—but she knew that they had to keep moving. “We better follow him or we’ll lose him,” she said, standing and looking around the edge of the dumpster to see which way he went.
“Considering what he just did, I think we might lose him just by following him,” Laura mumbled. The man rounded the corner and they both stepped out of their hiding place to follow.
The man was an amazingly talented actor. He didn't look around to see if anyone was following him, and he was walking at a slow pace. Rebecca and Laura followed him carefully, and when he turned to enter Wendy's, they immediately started talking about what they're aliases would talk about: homework. Rebecca went to the que to order something while Laura “waited" around. The man was nowhere to be seen.
Then, the men's bathroom door banged shut, and there was Jace, all shook up. Laura went to Rebecca to tell her about Jace, and Rebecca looked behind her with her glasses (glasses are useful for something!) It was indeed Jace. Jace saw the girls and immediately walked toward them.
“I can’t believe you’re switching out!” Rebecca exclaimed. She didn’t even have to wink at her friend to let Laura know it was just a distraction.
“I’m just not very good at art,” Laura laughed. “And I just transferred, so I should be okay.”
“You mean we just transferred. I could switch out too, if you want,” Rebecca suggested.
“Nah, it’s fine. We only have all our classes together right now.” The girls laughed and that’s when Jace walked up to them.
“Hey,” he said meekly, looking around. “I need your help.”
Rebecca looked surprised that he would even be talking to her, and Laura looked away nervously. “We…we just got our order…” Rebecca mumbled.
Jace’s eyes spoke fear, and he made desperate motions with his hands in the air. “I need you right now!” he hissed. “They’re after me!”
“Who’s after you?” Laura inquired meekly.
Jace looked around wildly then started to push them out the door. Laura resisted, looking frightened, but Jace’s grip was strong.
“Hey!” Rebecca shouted as he pushed them through the door and around the building. He finally stopped, and she huffed, re-positioning her glasses.
“No one knows what I am. I’m only telling you because I don’t have much time,” Jace declared hurriedly.
“What you are?” Laura asked. Then she flipped her pigtails in a disgusted matter, wrinkling her nose. “I’m not friends with druggies.”
“That’s not it. There are…people… who would do anything to get this.” He pulled out a stone from his pocket. But it was unlike any stone they had ever seen. It glowed in a florescent, ultra-violet light and seemed to be surrounded by wisps of white tendrils.
"What is that?" Rebecca asked, curious.
"I can't tell you. Not here." Jace replied and started walking quickly again, grasping their wrists tightly as he was walking.
"Tell us right now who you are." Laura said a little forcefully.
Jace ignored the forcefulness and said, “I’m part of a secret organization that’s working against terrorists. The rock is an important piece to solving an important puzzle of what they want. I can't tell you right now; we need to get out of here."
Rebecca, thinking over it, silently said to Laura,
"I think that we can trust him with our secret." This time, Jace was the one who stopped.
"What secret?"
