Kael closed the door and sighed. He touched the door with his hand before pressing his head to it. “I’m sorry, Fetije. I can’t risk them finding you.” He walked to the main room and picked up a picture off of the shelf. He walked over and sat down at the kitchen table. “I’m sorry I failed you, my love. I should have let them capture me so that they never found you. You shouldn’t have to suffer. Not this way.” He set her picture on the table and stared at her lovely face. She had black hair and golden-brown eyes, a slender neck, and fair features. Her nose curved nicely into a rounded point, and her hair sat over one shoulder. She was wearing black cloth from head to toe. “You said they would have killed me if they caught me,” Kael said angrily. “I would rather that had happened than them finding you a traitor and torturing you.” He stood and set her picture on the counter. “I must find you now, my dear Fetije. I will take every risk. I must find you before the HIA does.”

“Oh…” Caitlin said, finally understanding what was going on. “His girlfriend’s in there.”
“What?” Xarissa asked, surprised. She had been angry that she had to stay behind. It had been her idea to spy. Caitlin was at the house now, and Sarah sat next to her, listening to Caitlin talk on the com.
“He kept talking about someone called ‘Fetije’. He even had a picture of her. She was really pretty,” Caitlin explained.
“So what good does that information do for us?” Xarissa asked petulantly.
“He said something about going to find her, at all costs.”
“Do you know what that means?” Sarah asked, almost horrified.
“Yes,” Caitlin answered. “He’s going to try to stop the gang, and intervene in Laura’s mission.”

He hadn’t shot her. Yes, he shot one of the agents in the leg, but he had the full chance to shoot her. And he didn’t.
Laura didn’t understand it. All this time he had been against them, would have killed them on the spot if he could. So why the sudden change? Why was he helping them now?
The group ran as fast as they could to the exit. The two other agents carried the wounded one. She could hardly see their faces in the dark, and she didn’t need to know until they were safe. All she knew was that one of them wasn’t an agent, at least, not an agent originally part of the group. The girl with the long hair. She didn’t have that HIA aura around her. She stood tall, and she ran fast, but she hadn’t stooped down to help the agent that had been shot. She didn’t seem to care.
Who was that girl she had just saved? Was this another trick the terrorists were playing on her? Making her think she was one of them when she was really a spy?
She didn’t know what was going on, but she couldn’t try to sort it out now. She had to run.
Laura led the others out, but it was tricky. The other terrorists had come back, so it made it easier for them to be found, not to mention the agent's leg. They stole a car and drove it away from the station, just enough to get to the city. They then abandoned it, knowing that it would be tracked. Laura found the car she had hidden in an abandoned warehouse when she first arrived at the city, and she commanded everyone to get inside. It was difficult to get the wounded agent in, so she had to fold down the back row of seats.
The other agents jumped in, but the stranger made no move. She simply stood there.
"What are you waiting for? Get in!" Laura shouted. One of the other agents stepped out of the plane to force her on, but the woman ran off.
"Get in. We're going after her!" Laura commanded. The agent, however, replied, “No. She's safe. Don't worry about her."
Laura was beginning to doubt, but she knew the dangers. She had a feeling that the woman knew the dangers too. She drove off and when they reached a highway, she turned onto it and transformed the car into a plane. She pulled the throttle upward, and they were off.
****************
"Hey, do you see that?" Caitlin asked. Sarah and Xarissa looked up to see one of their miniplanes flying about.
"Hey, I think that that's Laura!" Sarah exclaimed!
"Ok, everybody! Back to the car!" Xarissa shouted, taking the shot gun and turning it into a plane. "We're following her!"
Sarah and Caitlin didn't speak as Xarissa zipped into the air.

There was a knock on the door.
"Kael?" The voice was small behind the door, but it seemed to echo through the entire house. Kael stared at the picture in disbelief, then turned to the door wide-eyed. It opened, and there she was. “Kael?” Tears were streaming down her face.
"Fetije!" Kael whispered excitedly. He urged himself to rise, but his body denied him. She walked slowly towards him, falling onto her knees next to him.
“Kael…” There weren’t enough words to tell him how she felt.
Finally, his body obeyed, and he swung his arms around her. His lips moved, but they uttered silence.
It didn’t matter. She could feel his jaw move and she knew what he had meant to say. “I love you,” she answered back.
